The Denver Nuggets have expressed their interest in trading Eric Bledsoe for a package headlined by Emmanuel Mudiay and other pieces. And according to Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders, one such piece is veteran forward Kenneth Faried.

This is hardly the first time Faried has been involved in trade discussions. The 27-year-old, who is the longest-tenured Nugget on the roster, has grown increasingly unhappy about losing his starting spot last season. Faried started just 34 out of the 61 games he played, averaging career lows in minutes (21.2), points (9.6) and rebounds (7.6).

The Nuggets have a clear logjam at power forward. Apart from Faried, the Nuggets also have Trey Lyles, Tyler Lydon, and Darrell Arthur all behind Paul Millsap on the depth chart. Promising young prospect Juan Hernangomez’s best position is also at power forward, although he's currently playing backup small forward due to necessity.

The Nuggets need to reduce the number of options they have at that one position, and Faried is the obvious candidate to go. He’s still owed $12.9 million this year and $13.7 million next year. His salary will likely be needed to make any trade with the Suns work since Mudiay is still on his rookie-scale deal that pays him $3.4 million and Bledsoe is earning $14.5 million.
