The older brother of Denver Nuggets All-Star center Nikola Jokic was arrested in Denver due to an assault allegation.

According to Elise Schmelzer of Denver Post, Strahinja Jokic allegedly choked and pushed a woman in a Denver apartment.

Strahinja Jokic, 37, had been drinking Thursday night and was with a woman in a Denver apartment, according to a police probable cause statement obtained by The Denver Post. The woman tried to leave the apartment, but Jokic shoved her and wouldn’t let her leave, the document said.

Strahinja and Nemanja Jokic — the older brothers of the Nuggets star center — have been known to attend many of their younger brother’s games. Strahinja Jokic once became so angry at a referee that he had to be restrained by a security guard.

Nikola Jokic was selected in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft by the Nuggest and has since seen his star rise in the professional basketball league. During the 2018-19 season, he made his first All-Star Game. Jokic is known as one of the best playmaking centers in the league.

Jokic is entering his fifth season with the Nuggets as the face of the franchise. Hopefully, this incident won't be a distraction for the young center as the 2019-20 season nears.
