On Tuesday night, Denver Nuggets veteran Paul Millsap made just his second start following a seven-game absence due to a foot injury. It was another win for the surging Nuggets against the Miami Heat, 103-99, and Millsap certainly played his part in the tight victory.

As a matter of fact, since making his return to action nearly two weeks ago, Millsap has actually been big for the Nuggets, and he has the numbers to prove it:

Millsap is the type of guy who does not exactly fill the stat sheet, but is able to effectively contribute to his team in more ways than one. On the season, the 33-year-old is averaging 13.2 points (on 49.0 percent shooting), 6.7 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.3 steals, and a block in 26.1 minutes of action. These are certainly not eye-popping numbers, but the stats above show just how important Millsap is for the Nuggets.

On Tuesday, Millsap played the most minutes since his return to action. He was on the court for 30 minutes, which actually eclipses his season average. Millsap was deemed worthy by Nuggets head coach Michael Malone to resume his usual workload, and the four-time All-Star responded with 12 points (on 5-of-11 shooting), nine rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block.

The Nuggets have won five of the last six games since Paul Millsap made his way back to the lineup. As a result, Denver is still sitting on the top spot of the West with a 27-12 record, holding off the defending champs, the Golden State Warriors, who are still lurking in second.
