Denver Nuggets guard Will Barton has come out with an encouraging update following his scary hamstring injury from Friday night. There has been a lot of concern surrounding the 30-year-old's most recent injury, but as it appears, Barton is going to be returning to action sooner rather than later.

Barton himself took to Twitter to tell the world that he is far from done this season:

Barton reportedly heard a “pop” when he suffered the injury, so there was some initial fear that it was a torn hamstring. The good news here is that it has since been diagnosed as a strain. Barton is still expected to miss some time with this recent knock and the Nuggets have actually been unable to provide a timetable for his return.

There's no denying that this is still a significant injury for Barton. Hamstring issues often tend to be problematic and they usually require some time to heal. Nevertheless, the silver lining here is that this is not going to be a season-ending injury for Will. He is reportedly expected to miss at least a handful of games, but again, Barton should be back for the Nuggets for the home stretch.

Denver is in a tight race in the West right now. While a postseason berth is virtually guaranteed at this point, they are still battling for position in the conference. At 38-21, the Nuggets are currently fourth in the West, with the defending champs, the Los Angeles Lakers, breathing down their neck at fifth.
