The 2020 Tokyo Olympics took an exciting turn for Team USA after Gable Stevenson clinched the gold medal with a buzzer-beating takedown over Georgian wrestler Geno Petriashvil. Stevenson conducted a comeback win for the ages and secured a takedown for the gold medal within the final second remaining on the clock. His alma mater, the University of Minnesota gave Gable Stevenson a huge shout-out through social media.

At just 21-years old, Stevenson has proven to be one of the best Heavyweight wrestlers in the world. His future looks bright, as both the WWE and UFC have a shared interest in potentially bringing him on board their organizations. Stevenson will likely have his choice between the two, as he has the potential to become a star in both leagues.
The WWE is clearly interested in signing Stevenson, as they have a knack for acquiring Olympic talent in the past. Kurt Angle was in a similar position at a young age, who decided to join the WWE after winning Olympic medals in his prime years. The WWE took to social media to express their interest in Gable Stevenson.
Congratulations @GableSteveson!

Ariel Helwani, the top UFC sports writer and avid WWE fan, shared his bewilderment of Stevenson's accomplishments as well. After posting the winning takedown on Twitter, Helwani explains how the UFC and WWE are both likely to reach out to Stevenson once he graduates from college. With two elite sports organizations already drooling over Gable Stevenson at the Tokyo Olympics, it's safe to say the young man has a bright future ahead of him.

Whether he decides to join the WWE or UFC is up to him and we won't know his career path until he makes that decision. Until then, Stevenson is celebrating his gold medal finish at the Olympics.
