The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles stunned the Florida Gators on Sunday after an 81-78 victory. Max Abmas and Kevin Obanor led the team en route to also becoming just the third pair of teammates in NCAA history to each score 25 points or more in consecutive games, per ESPN Stats and Info.

Abmas and Obanor joined Bryant Stith and Richard Morgan who did the same in 1989 for Virginia and Gail Goodrich and Keith Erickson in 1965 for UCLA. Abmas is making a name for himself this March, as he also put up a stellar 29 points, five rebounds and three assists in 45 minutes to help Oral Roberts upset second seed Ohio State Buckeyes in their last game. Obanor, meanwhile, raked 30 points and 11 rebounds versus Ohio.

Against the Gators, Obanor had 28 while Abmas finished with 26.

“It’s either win or go home, and we’re not trying to go home,” Kevin Obanor said after his impressive performance with Max Abmas for Oral Roberts. “I’m just happy for my teammates, my coaching staff. It’s an honor, we worked very hard, added Obanor.”

Oral Roberts also became just the second number 15 seed to advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament when they knocked off Florida on Sunday. They were superior in crunch time where they hit most of their free throws. As for the 7th-seeded Florida, they led 67-56 with 9:48 to go but couldn’t make shots down the stretch.

The Golden Eagles will go up against 3rd-seed Arkansas Razorbacks next, who defeated Texas Tech on Sunday in a close fight. Both teams have already met this season where the Eagles put on a fight but couldn’t pull the upset after the Razorbacks won 87-76.
