The Indiana Pacers are still at least another week away from getting their starting point guard Darren Collison back with the team, according to Scott Agness of Vigilant Sports.

The UCLA product is two weeks removed from having his left knee scoped and recently spent his All-Star break rehabbing with the team’s lead physical therapist.

The Pacers have trotted backup Cory Joseph, who has helped keep the team afloat, winning their last three games going into the All-Star break and sitting pretty in fifth place, only months after losing their star player Paul George.

Luckily enough, the return pieces have yielded an All-Star in Victor Oladipo and a key role player in Domantas Sabonis, who has carved a niche with this team in only his second year in the league.

Collison has benefitted from these addition, having his most efficient season of his nine-year career, putting up 12.5 points while shooting 49.5 percent from the floor, 43.2 percent from deep, and 89.7 percent from the line —flirting with a 50-40-90 line, which has proved key for this new-look team.

Indiana could use his help, but will likely take the cautious approach, as the team is playing for the long run and looking to make a splash in the postseason after being swept by the Cleveland Cavaliers last year.

Joseph and Joe Young will handle duties at the point until Collison's return with a chance to extend their streak to six, facing the Atlanta Hawks twice in the next three games, along with the cellar-dwelling Dallas Mavericks.
