Per Chris Haynes, the Indiana Pacers and center Amida Brimah have reached an agreement on a one-year deal:

The former free agent is a seven-footer with no NBA experience, although he has played in several teams G Leagues and spent four years at the University of Connecticut.

The Husky put up average career numbers. He left college with averages of 6.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game. He shot 63 percent from the field in 102 total games.

The highlight of Brimah's career so far is probably winning the NCAA title with UConn in 2014. He had some key moments in the title run, including a three-point play with his team down three and only 39 seconds left. The game went to overtime and UConn prevailed.

Now, the Ghanese center will get a chance to show the Pacers what he can do against NBA competition. Brimah will likely be third on the depth chart to start the season, behind Myles Turner and rookie Goga Bitadze.

NBA teams will almost always give seven-footers a shot to make it in the league. As the saying goes, you can't teach height. However, most of these centers end up not panning out. They are either not mobile enough or too injury prone.

Here's hoping that Brimah can break the mold and make himself a name on a very good Pacers team.
