The Indiana Pacers were reluctant to get rid of Paul George last season, trying to find every possible way to keep their All-Star forward before the inevitable. This time around, president Kevin Pritchard isn't so sure they would take him back.

Speaking on the Dan Dakich Show, Pritchard laid out a potential possibility for a reunion if George was to opt out of his deal this summer.

via Ryne Nelson of SLAM Magazine:

“I would want to know first that he would fit us. We're different now.

“I think everybody would recognize one of the things we're about… we don't care about big names, we don't care about big personalities. We're not about big brands.

“What we are about is being a humble, tough, unselfish team. Anybody that fits in that, yeah, we're interested.”

The Pacers went toe-to-toe against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round, losing by four points in Game 7, but showing a much better fight than during their four-game sweep last season with George in the forefront of it all.

Pritchard took in what most thought was salvaged goods and turned into a winning team, garnering the fifth seed in the East and making an All-Star out of hometown pride Victor Oladipo.

George has a $20.7 million player-option for next season after having spent the first seven seasons with the Pacers, being selected with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2010 NBA Draft.

Indiana is in need of a small forward, and if the need fits the bill, it wouldn't be out of the question to seek a reunion with their old friend.
