Myles Turner is looking to take the next step in his development in his fourth year in the NBA. Turner, 22, is turning heads this summer, according to Scott Agness of The Athletic.

Victor Oladipo's trainer, Micah Lancaster, told Agness:

“Myles Turner was exceptional. I think his upside is huge. We’ve also worked with Karl-Anthony Towns since he was an eighth grader and I see a lot of similarities in those two [from a skills standpoint]. I’m personally pretty excited about him. I think he hasn’t even scratched the surface and he showed it in workouts.”

This is high praise from somebody who saw Oladipo improve by leaps and bounds last season. Perhaps Turner is poised for a similar rise this season.

Additionally, a comparison to Karl-Anthony Towns must be music to the ears of Pacers fans. Towns is one of the premier centers in the league, and his unique combination of size and skill are ideal in today's NBA.

Turner and some of his other teammates attended an offseason mini-camp set up by Oladipo. Turner wasn't the only Pacer who impressed. Lancaster added:

“[Domantas] Sabonis has a really nice feel. He was impressive. Tyreke Evans is exceptionally skilled. As a team, the excitement behind the workouts was pretty impressive to see.”

The Pacers were a huge surprise last season, and now they're looking to take another step forward after nearly knocking out LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round. If Indiana's young players continue to improve, they could be a dark horse out in the East.
