Reggie Miller is the most beloved player in Indiana Pacers history and still enjoys commenting on the moves the organization makes. That was the case once again recently when he talked about the new-look Pacers.

In an interview with the Indianapolis Star, Miller opened up and said he likes the pairing of Tyreke Evans and Victor Oladipo that Kevin Pritchard put together this offseason.

“No. 1, I think he's going to be great for (coach) Nate McMillan and that second unit. You've got a proven guy that can come off your bench and play a number of positions. You can play him at point [guard], you can play him at shooting guard, and he's big enough to guard small forwards in this league.”

Miller went on to talk about the Oladipo and Evans pairing, especially when it comes to the fourth quarter.

“Come the fourth quarter, you can play him and pair him with Victor and you have that double threat one through three, depending on who's going to be your point guard.”

He summed everything up with the statement that health is the main factor for Evans to fit in perfectly with the Pacers.

“The key thing for Tyreke is staying healthy. That's been the one thing throughout his career is court time. Can he stay healthy in the long run? I think coming off the bench, not playing major minutes, I don't see him playing 35 to 40 minutes. But if he's in that 25 to 32 range, it's going to pay huge dividends for the Pacers.”

One of the Pacers' top priorities entering the NBA offseason was to find another top-notch playmaker. Indiana did not win a single game when Oladipo missed time last season. Evans may not be a star like Oladipo, but he is more than capable of scoring at a high level and creating plays for his teammates.

Indiana projects to be one of the top contenders in the Eastern Conference this season. They will have to battle with the Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors, and Philadelphia 76ers in particular. Other teams like the Milwaukee Bucks and Washington Wizards will also be tough to beat.

Expect to see the Evans and Oladipo pairing work perfectly for the Pacers. Miller's comments should excite the Pacers' fan base even more.
