The Indiana Pacers have assigned shooting guard Victor Oladipo to their G League affiliate Fort Wayne Mad Ants, as he continues to make good progress from a knee injury, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

The star still has no timetable for his return but will get to practice with the G League team on Tuesday, hoping for a near return to the NBA floor.

Oladipo has been out of action since suffering a ruptured quad tendon on Jan. 23, effectively ending his 2018-19 season. Dipo was averaging 18.8 points per game, as well as career-highs in assists and rebounds before having his last NBA campaign cut short.

The Indiana standout has been gearing up his return, but the franchise has been noncommital on a fixed date, hoping to give their star as much time as he needs to finish his recovery.

Oladipo earned an All-Star nod during his first year in Indiana after being part of the package the Pacers received in exchange for former franchise player Paul George. The hope is that allowing him to come back on his own terms will give the Pacers a fully-read version of the slashing guard, allowing him to return to his All-Star form.
