Last season, the Green Bay Packers went 6-9-1 and missed the playoffs for the second straight season. This season, under new head coach Matt LaFleur, Green Bay would go 13-3 and once again reign supreme in the NFC North.

While the season didn't end how most fans would have wanted it to, the Packers as a whole had a bounce-back season, to say the least. When a team bounces back like Green Bay did this season, there are undoubtedly a few individual players that defied expectations and enjoyed break out seasons.

Aaron Jones

Expectations were high for Jones after the undersized back out of UTEP rushed for 728 yards and eight touchdowns in just his second season.

However, I don't think many people expected Jones to lead the NFL in rushing touchdowns in 2019. With a healthy Aaron Rodgers and a dominant receiver in Davante Adams, the Packers were supposed to put up big-time passing numbers.

And while they did accomplish that for the most part, the team also fared just as well on the ground.

Technically, Jones shares the NFL rushing touchdown lead with Tennessee Titans back Derrick Henry, but Jones' accomplishment is spectacular nonetheless.

Add in 1,084 yards on the ground, 49 catches for 474 yards, and an additional three touchdowns and Jones has transformed himself into a legitimate star in the league despite just turning 25 years old.

Kevin King

Despite his tendency to give up too many big plays, the Packers have found a gem in third-year cornerback Kevin King.

After playing a combined 15 games with 11 starts in his first two seasons, King was able to stay healthy in 2019. The result was King grabbing a team-high five interceptions which were also the fourth-best mark in the NFL.

King also had 17 passes defended, 66 total tackles and three tackles for a loss while limiting opposing quarterbacks to an 84.5 passer rating when throwing to him.

Za'Darius Smith

In his last three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, Smith totaled 13.0 combined sacks. In 2019 alone, the 6-foot-4, 272-pound pass rusher recorded 13.5 sacks.

Smith was already a really good NFL player but in his first season with the Packers, the former Kentucky Wildcat simply took his game to the next level.

Along with a team-high 13.5 sacks, Smith also recorded 55 total tackles and 37 quarterback hits from the outside linebacker position.

Smith was a major reason why Green Bay ranked eighth in the NFL in sacks and after recently signing a four-year deal with the Packers worth $66 million, Smith should continue to dominate opposing offensive lines.
