Aaron Rodgers is having a great year right now for the 10-3 Green Bay Packers. As a matter of fact, the 37-year-old quarterback has been so good this season, that he's forced his way to the MVP conversation.

Rodgers himself acknowledged that winning a third MVP award “would definitely mean a lot” to him, and at this point, he firmly believes that he is a viable candidate this season:

“I think it should live up to what it stands for as an acronym,” Rodgers responded when asked why he believes he should be in the MVP running, via Curtis Crabtree of NBC Sports. “It’s that person who is most valuable to their team. I feel like that’s why I should be in the competition most years, and this year especially.”

Looking at his numbers, it's hard to argue against Rodgers' point here.

In the Packers' last game against the Detroit Lions, Rodgers was in true MVP form, completing 26-of-33 passes for 290 yards and three touchdowns. The Packers emerged with a 31-24 win over a testy Lions side, and it was thanks in large part to another vintage performance from Green Bay's superstar quarterback.

Aaron Rodgers has been on point for pretty much the entire season, and right now, it would be safe to say that he is a strong candidate for this year's MVP award. Some might even go as far as saying that he is currently t the pole position to bag the award again this term.

The Packers will play the Carolina Panthers at home in Week 15.
