In April, the 2020 NFL Draft was held. And the Green Bay Packers made a move that surprised nearly everyone in the first round.

Not only did they draft a quarterback, they traded up to do so.

For a lot of teams, this might not seem like the most surprising thing to do. Getting a franchise quarterback is what teams dream of in the Draft. So trading up for one is never much of a shocker.

However, the Packers are a little different. The reason they are different is Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is considered by many to be one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game of football.

And while he is getting a little older, there is still plenty of football left in him. At 36, it would not be all that shocking if Rodgers played for another 5 years at the very least.

So getting his replacement now, seems a little unnecessary. That's especially true considering the quarterback had a “down” year in 2019 and still managed over 4,000 yards and had 26 touchdown passes compared to just four interceptions.

Most quarterbacks would kill for that type of production and ball security. Rodgers did it and it was considered a decline.

Drafting Love means that the Packers are ready to move on though. Rodgers' days with the team may be numbered, the countdown to his departure has officially begun.

In all of this, a lot of questions arose. How does Rodgers feel about the move? What were the coaches thinking? Is Love ready to take over an NFL team and how does he feel replacing Rodgers? How much longer until they pull the trigger and officially name Love the starter?

One thing that seems to not get asked about as much is the reaction of his teammates. How are they taking the news? Are they ready to move on?

Well according to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic we have the reaction of superstar wide receiver Davante Adams.

Adams seems to have been caught off guard a bit. Even he appeared to believe the team would be drafting a wide receiver. After all, it is no secret that they are pretty weak at that position.

However, he also brings up another point. Rodgers is going to have the right mindset, and he's going to “come in balling”.

There is no doubt that Rodgers is one of the best to ever do it and that he's 100% a competitor. So it really wouldn't be shocking if he took this draft pick to heart and used it as motivation to have one of the best seasons he's had in a long time.

As for Love, it appears the Packers will be his team soon enough. For now though, it would be wise to sit behind Rodgers' and learn. There is a lot you can get from him. So take this time and use it wisely. Soon enough the keys to the Kingdom will be his.
