The Green Bay Packers will be in the market for an inside linebacker this offseason and it appears they have their sights set on someone in particular. With nearly two weeks until free agency, Green Bay is interested in signing linebacker Cory Littleton in free agency.

Following the conclusion of the 2019 season, some fans in Green Bay were curious to see what the Packers were going to do with Blake Martinez. Since 2017, Martinez has been a staple of Green Bay's defense, leading the team in tackles over the last three seasons.

Despite his production in the past three years, the Packers seem content to let Martinez walk in free agency. In an attempt to replace him, Green Bay wants to lure Littleton away from the Los Angeles Rams.

In his two seasons as a starter for the Rams, Littleton has tallied 259 tackles, 22 deflections, and five interceptions. Among inside linebackers in the NFL, Littleton is one of the best coverage linebackers the league has to offer.

Of course, the Rams intend on doing everything they can to retain Littleton this offseason. However, with Los Angeles limited in cap space, Littleton could become too expensive for them.

On the other hand, the Packers are desperate to find a linebacker that can replace Martinez. At the same time, it would be wise to sign someone that is much better in passing situations than Martinez was.

There is the slim chance that the Rams place the franchise tag on Littleton. But if he does test free agency, the Packers want to be the first team to speak to him.
