Adrian Amos won't be staying with the Chicago Bears, but he won't be leaving the NFC North.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the safety has agreed to sign with the Green Bay Packers in the Packers' attempt to revamp their defense.

This marks the second big defensive addition for Green Bay after also adding former Baltimore Ravens pass rusher Za'Darius Smith.

Amos is coming off a 2018 campaign in which he racked up 73 tackles, a sack, a couple of interceptions, a fumble recovery and nine passes defended.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Penn State University, was originally selected by the Bears in the fifth round (142nd pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He immediately started all 16 games during his rookie season, finishing with 67 tackles and a sack. Then, the following year, Amos appeared in 15 contests and totaled 62 tackles, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and four passes defended.

The Baltimore native went on to participate in 13 games in 2017, posting 67 stops, a pick, a pair of forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and a defensive touchdown.

For a Packers team that ranked just 19th in the league in total defense and 22nd in scoring defense this past season, additions like Amos and Smith are exactly what they needed.

Green Bay went 6-9-1 and missed the playoffs in 2018, marking the first time since 2006 that the franchise had failed to qualify for the postseason in back-to-back campaigns.

As a result of the Packers' struggles, they fired longtime head coach Mike McCarthy late in the season and eventually replaced him with Matt LaFleur in January.
