The Green Bay Packers have announced that former NFL fullback John Kuhn will be joining the team as a sports analyst.

Kuhn was originally undrafted free agent that signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2005. He played there for two seasons and won a Super Bowl with them in 2006.

After being released by the Steelers in 2007, the Packers signed him to their active roster. He was a Green Bay Packer for nine seasons, being a key piece in their Super Bowl victory in 2011 against his former team. He finished his NFL career as a member of the Saints, playing for them for two seasons (2016-17).

In his 12-year NFL career, he finished with 217 carries for 658 yards and 19 touchdowns rushing. In the receiving game, he had 98 receptions for 642 yards and nine touchdowns. He announced his retirement from the NFL in March of this year.

Although fullbacks are going extinct in the NFL, Kuhn truly kept the position alive. He was dangerous as a goal-line back and was used more often than the traditional fullback. He was a well-respected player in the NFL and was a leader in the Packers locker room. But now, he'll be on the team as an analyst as he turns to the next chapter of his life.

Kuhn participated in an NFL Broadcasting Boot Camp in 2015, a big reason as to how Kuhn got his interested in media.

We are seeing a lot of former NFL players joining broadcast networks in various roles. Tony Romo, Nate Burleson, and so many other former players have entered the world of communications. Kuhn should be very successful in his new role with the Packers.
