Among the Green Bay Packers, Kenny Clark has been one of the most impactful names on defense. The 28-year-old is coming off a strong season, where he notched his third Pro Bowl appearance. This is exactly why the Packers are currently in talks with the defensive lineman regarding a contract extension.

Clark is set to become a free agent following the upcoming season, and he gave a recent update on what's presently happening behind the scenes.

“Yeah, it's been talks,” Clarks said, pertaining to the contract negotiations. “It's still ongoing. They're talking though, and that's the only thing I got on that.”

Nevertheless, the defensive tackle made his intentions clear. When asked if he wants to remain in Green Bay, Clark had words that would put a smile on the face of any Packers fan.

“I love it here. I love my teammates, I love the organization, so hopefully everything works out.” (per TMJ4 News' Ashley Washburn)

More on Kenny Clark

Clark has been a Packer his entire career. Following a three-year stint with UCLA in the collegiate ranks, the DT was selected by Green Bay in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft. After becoming a full-time starter in his sophomore year, Clark continued to make forward strides, eventually appearing in his first Pro Bowl game in 2019. He tallied 62 combined tackles (31 solo), nine tackles for loss, and 6.0 sacks that season.

The defensive lineman would eventually continue his strong play, garnering two more Pro Bowl appearances in the past few years. As mentioned earlier, Clark's third appearance occurred this year, just after he put up a career-high 7.5 sacks during the regular season. The 28-year-old also had 44 combined tackles (22 solo), 16 quarterback hits, and nine tackles for loss. While he wasn't exactly part of the initial Pro Bowl selection, Clark was chosen to replace Javon Hargrave, who would not participate due to the Super Bowl.

As for his team, the Packers returned to the playoffs after missing out the year prior. Their regular-season campaign was off to a rocky start, but a late push (6-2 in their final eight games) garnered them a postseason berth. During Wild Card Weekend, Green Bay pulled off an upset win over the Dallas Cowboys. The team eventually ended their run after a close loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the following round.

Looking at offseason tweaks, the Packers have a new running back in Josh Jacobs, who enters the picture to replace Aaron Jones. In the secondary, Green Bay immediately signed Xavier McKinney following the departure of Darnell Savage. Rookies such as Jordan Morgan, Javon Bullard, and Edgerrin Cooper are also expected to make contributions in the upcoming campaign.

With most of the core group intact, the Packers look to garner another playoff run this 2024.
