Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was not shy about his frustration with the team's game plan on offense in their Week 4 win over the Buffalo Bills. It appears head coach Mike McCarthy has no issue with Rodgers' criticisms.

It is not unusual for coaches to undermine the opinions of their players. However, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky, McCarthy understands why Rodgers was so disgruntled with their performance:

“Hey, I'm no different, too,” McCarthy said Monday. “I've called a lot of games in this league and I've gone through a lot of game plans and still represent the team as a head coach. But when I closed my door last night and watched the game, I felt like we left a lot out there.”

It is encouraging to see that McCarthy is keeping an open mind when it comes to his players' opinions. There are coaches in the NFL that sometimes like to draw the line when it comes to this particular vocation. However, the best ones tend to listen to what their star players have to say, especially when it comes to ones of Rodgers' caliber.

It is easy to see why Rodgers was so frustrated. The Packers' 22-0 win over the Bills can be chalked up as a defensive victory. Green Bay struggled to capitalize in the red zone and were forced to settle for field goals as a result. Although they may have escaped with the victory this time, such efforts will not be enough to compete against some of the more high-powered offenses on their schedule. Both Rodgers and McCarthy are well-aware of their recent shortcomings and need to improve.
