Another NFL star sustained an injury after Week 2 proceedings. Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey is expected to miss multiple weeks due to an ankle injury suffered during their game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

ESPN Senior NFL insider Adam Schefter reported the situation on Twitter:

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport later reported that McCaffrey is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

The visiting Carolina Panthers were dealt with a 32-17 loss which brought them to a collapsing 0-2 record in the season thus far. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater failed to get his groove going during the game as the Buccaneers' stifling defense haunted him all day. He was only limited to a total of 367 passing yards on a 33 of 42 passes completed along with two interceptions.

Christian McCaffrey was once again the main option for the Panthers offense as he racked up 59 rushing yards on 18 carries and two scored rushing touchdowns. Wide receiver D.J. Moore was also productive on the field as he tallied 120 receiving yards on 8 catches while newcomer Robby Anderson chipped in 109 receiving yards on 9 receptions of his own.

The Buccaneers asserted their dominance on both ends of the field as they led the game from start to finish. The Panthers attempted to mount their own comeback towards the end of the game but Tom Brady and the rest of the Bucs appeared to be too much for them to handle.

The 2019 Pro Bowler's absence will be a huge blow for the Panthers as the team has yet to snag their first win of the season after two games in the books. The Carolina-based squad will face another challenging task in the form of the uprising Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3 festivities.
