Gerald McCoy knows this Panthers' defense is capable of big things. Its why he came to Carolina in the first place. With the veteran defensive tackle aboard, the expectations for Carolina's defense are high. And when asked on WFNZ's Wilson & Parcell what his own expectations are, McCoy made it clear the bar is set high.

Greatness,” said McCoy. “I didn't come for anything less … This defense as a whole can be so incredible. And if you add me, it just puts it over the top with what I've been able to do in my career: Little tricks of the trade and things I have and see that a lot of people don't see that I can help these guys up front see.”

McCoy is the third All-Pro tackle to line up along the Panthers' defensive line, joining Kawann Short and Dontari Poe. Now 31 years old, McCoy insists the Panthers do not need him to be Superman. Nevertheless, he still believes he can prove his doubters wrong who have questioned his ability to continue to dominate.

“I know what I'm capable of. I know what I still have left in the tank,” said McCoy. “And I truly believe not only can I that same type of production, but I can go even higher than what people have seen over the past few years.”

McCoy also spoke of the Saints and their run of NFC South titles over the past two seasons.
