The Carolina Panthers moved to 3-0 this season after a victory over the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football, but they lost a few of their stars in the process. In addition to superstar running back Christian McCaffrey possibly missing some time with a hamstring injury, prized rookie cornerback Jaycee Horn is going to miss a good chunk of time after breaking multiple bones in his foot, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapaport.

Horn was helped off the field and then carted to the locker room after suffering a non-contact injury. The cornerback went down when he was backpedaling in coverage and immediately called for help from the medical team.

The youngster will have more tests Friday to determine the severity of the injury. Rapaport says it's “not necessarily” a season-ending injury, but it's clear that it's a major injury and will likely cost the rookie a few months after a possible surgery.

Horn was the first cornerback selected in the 2021 NFL Draft. He starred at South Carolina before going eighth overall and had already been making an impact for Carolina. The 21-year-old has five total tackles and an interception on the season.

The Panthers' defense has been dominant so far, allowing just 191.0 yards per game and 10.0 points per game through three contests. Both of those marks are best in the NFL.
