Teddy Bridgewater is set to hit the NFL free agency market this offseason after having the chance to show off his ability in 2019 with the New Orleans Saints. When Drew Brees went down with a thumb injury, Bridgewater stepped in and kept the team in serious contention. He looked really good while keeping the team in contention as well.

Now, there are quite a few teams looking for new quarterbacks in free agency. One of those teams is the Carolina Panthers, who have a new head coach in Matt Rhule and an uncertain future with Cam Newton. Bridgewater could make a lot of sense for them.

Pro Football Focus has made their predictions for where quarterbacks will end up this offseason and they have predicted that Bridgewater will end up signing with the Panthers in free agency.

In 2019 with the Saints, Bridgewater ended up playing in nine games. He completed 67.9 percent of his pass attempts for 1,384 yards, nine touchdowns, and just two interceptions. Those numbers show the kind of production that Bridgewater is capable of giving a team.

Carolina would be wise to look into the option of signing Bridgewater. Newton's injury issues have become troublesome over the last couple of seasons and neither Kyle Allen or Will Grier is the answer. Bridgewater is just 27 years old and could give the Panthers a franchise quarterback both now and for the future.

There are going to be plenty of teams with interest in signing Bridgewater this offseason. Among those teams are the New England Patriots (if they lose Tom Brady), Los Angeles Chargers, and Indianapolis Colts. Other teams that could have some level of interest in him are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Saints.

All of that being said, the Panthers would be a great landing spot for Bridgewater. If a competitive offer is on the table, Bridgewater would have to strongly consider taking his talents to Carolina.
