For that brief moment in time that Antonio Brown was with the New England Patriots, it looked like a reincarnation of what fans saw in 2007 when the team had the leagues best quarterback and receiving duo in Tom Brady and Randy Moss.

That thought lasted all of a couple of days before Brown was cut by the Patriots due to his off-the-field incidents. For someone that is still holding onto Brown in fantasy, the suggestion the player made Wednesday that the Patriots re-sign him was a glimmer of hope in a season that has been very dark.

According to Mike Florio of NBC Sports, Brown is not only asking the Patriots to re-sign him but pay him. The receiver went live on Instagram and told his followers to encourage the Patriots to give him a call since “the Patriots have to pay me,” he said so “they may as well play me.” Brown still seems like he is yearning to get back on the field and hasn't stopped referring to himself as the best receiver in the NFL.

Since the Patriots cut Brown, no other team has shown serious interest in signing the former All-Pro as they are waiting to see how the allegations against Brown play out. He didn't exactly make a graceful exit out of New England, calling out owner Robert Kraft as he referenced the sexual solicitation allegations that were leveled against the owner.

Brown's talent and abilities are not in question, but rather his character. We have seen in recent years that if you can play, teams will gladly take on the baggage that comes along with it. Unfortunately for Brown, it seems like his baggage is just something no one wants to carry on.
