New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton paid tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman ahead of his team's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. He had personalized cleats to pay homage to the actor which featured a Black Panther mask along with the words ‘Wakanda Forever'.

ESPN's Adam Schefter posted a photo of the tribute via Twitter:

Chadwick Boseman left an immeasurable impact on the entire African-American community with his role as the Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His death around a month ago was greatly mourned by the public across the world especially amidst the ongoing Black Lives Matter movement in American society.

On the field, Cam Newton also paid tribute to Boseman after he scored his first touchdown as a New England Patriot in their opening game against the Miami Dolphins. The 2015 NFL MVP proceeded to rack up a total of 151 passing yards on a 15/19 clip along with two rushing touchdowns en route to a 21-11 win by the Patriots.

The team then faced the streaking Seattle Seahawks where the Patriots spent the entire second half trying to catch up to their counterparts. An unsuccessful one-yard line rushing attempt by Newton eventually gave the tight 35-30 win to the Seahawks. The gunslinger once again led at the forefront and tallied 397 passing yards on 30-of-44 passes completed along with a touchdown and an interception.

With an added inspiration ahead of Sunday's game, Cam Newton will look to have another impressive performance and lead his team to a win this time against the Raiders.
