It has been known by everyone since the start of the offseason that the newest New England Patriots quarterback has been regularly sharing his workout videos on social media. However, away from the public eye, Cam Newton has been indulging in a diet that will help keep him in top shape for the upcoming season.

“I've seen such a remarkable change in the way my body responds to the food that I eat,” Newton said as part of a new vegan campaign for PETA, a nonprofit organization that promotes kindness to animals.

“I don't want people to think you can't love food being vegan, or there's not good-tasting food that's vegan,” he said. “A person may ask, ‘How do you get your protein?' … You get it in the same way that they get it, know what I'm saying? The more cleaner, more fresher way.”

Cam Newton follows the footsteps of other NFL players who have teamed up with PETA in the past, including Kansas City's Tyrann Mathieu, New York Jets' Le'Veon Bell, and Green Bay's Devin Funchess.

The 2015 NFL MVP has been making his time worthwhile in the offseason thus far. He has been working out together with his fellow NFL players and his new Patriots teammates in Mohamed Sanu and N'Keal Harry at the UCLA grounds.

He will be joining sophomore Jarrett Stidham and 11-year veteran Bryan Hoyer in the Patriots' quarterback room. Training camps will see if the former Heisman Trophy winner will be the team's starting quarterback come Week 1, but to most it's already a done deal.

With the upcoming season starting in a few months, Patriots nation can't wait to see if the diet will help their new quarterback bring the team back to their winning ways.
