Chase Winovich was never afraid to speak his mind with the Michigan Wolverines but it appears he already is fitting right in with the New England Patriots, and the ways of trying to tell the media as little as possible.

Winovich was asked by the media how much contact he had with the Patriots heading into the draft and he said that is something he wouldn't discuss until he had further instructions.

“I’d rather just wait to dive into that further until I receive further instructions,” Winovich said in a conference call late Friday night via the Detroit Free Press.

The Patriots third-round pick often turned peoples heads during his time at Michigan for his comments to the media. He likes to call Michigan State the Wolverines little brother, and after 2017 he went to coach Jim Harbaugh and gave him a list of things he wanted to be changed inside the program.

That made him a fan favorite at Michigan along with his play on the field but now it appears that it's going to have to be the play that does all the talking, at least until he has made a name for himself in the league.

Winovich also stressed how much of a blessing it is to be drafted by the Patriots and that he is ready to get to work.

“I’m speechless,” Winovich told reporters on a call Friday night. “It’s a great honor and I’m just very lucky. I feel very blessed, surrounded by my closest family and friends, just a very lucky position I’m in.”
