The New England Patriots have rewarded running back James White and defensive lineman Lawrence Guy with bonuses, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

The catch is that the bonuses for each player were incentives in their contracts that they did not hit during the season, but the Patriots decided to give it to them, anyway.

Good stuff, Pats.

White will receive a $250,000 bonus and Guy will receive a $400,000 bonus.

In the case of White, he was due to make that extra cash if he accumulated 1,200 total yards from scrimmage. He ended up with 1,176, rushing for 425 yards and five touchdowns and hauling in 87 receptions for 751 yards and seven scores.

As for Guy, his bonus would have taken effect if played in at least 50 percent of New England's defensive snaps. He ultimately fell just three snaps short and finished with 59 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble.

White, who played his collegiate football at the University of Wisconsin, was originally selected by the Patriots in the fourth round (130th pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

While he is a running back, White has been more of a receiving threat than a rusher throughout his career, as evidenced by the fact that he has tallied 19 receiving touchdowns as opposed to seven scores on the ground.

Guy just completed his second season in New England. He originally signed with the team in 2017, and in his first season with the Pats, he totaled 58 tackles and a sack.

The 29-year-old had previously played for the Indianapolis Colts, San Diego Chargers, and Baltimore Ravens before joining the Patriots.
