Many analysts believe San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has a long and successful career ahead of him. One of the main reasons for that is where he started his career. The quarterback began his career with the New England Patriots. That means he got the opportunity to learn from head coach Bill Belichick and future Hall of Fame QB Tom Brady.

Despite not being teammates anymore, Garoppolo is still getting advice from Brady. In talks with Vinnie Iyer of SportingNews.com, Garoppolo discussed his current relationship with his old mentor.

“Tom is a great friend. He's real down to earth – if I ever have a question on anything I text him and he replies very quickly with an answer. You have to appreciate that in him. He'll text to just say hello.”

“I talked to him about my knee rehab earlier this offseason, and he helped me there. It's a great relationship, and I'm thankful I have him to help.”

Based on everything you see about Tom Brady, this shouldn't be all that surprising. Every once in a while you'll see someone crop up and try to make a story about Brady not being all that much of a “team” player when it comes to mentoring. However, that seems to not be the case more often than anything.

This is just another example that shows how much of an impact he makes on younger players. Even with them being on separate teams now, Brady takes the time to answer any questions Garoppolo throws his way. In fact, Brady apparently initiates the conversations sometimes.

It's unclear what the future for Jimmy Garoppolo actually holds. However, he has Tom Brady in his corner and that gives him a nice head start.
