Julian Edelman had a lot of success with Rob Gronkowski when they were still playing together with the New England Patriots, and for him, the veteran TE is the best ever in his position.

After Gronkowski officially announced his (second) retirement on Tuesday, tributes poured in for him. Tom Brady shared an emotional tribute for his teammate, friend and brother, reflecting on their journey together in the NFL and the friendship they have built over the years. Edelman, for his part, commented on Brady's message for Gronk and emphasized there'll never be another player like him in the league.

“Best tight end in NFL history. Congrats Roberto,” Edelman wrote.

Julian Edelman and Rob Gronkowski won three Super Bowl titles together during their time with the Patriots, as the two served as Tom Brady's top weapons and targets.

Gronkowski first retired from the NFL in 2019, spending over a year out of the league before deciding to return in 2020 and play alongside Brady with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Meanwhile, Edelman stayed as a loyal Patriot until he called it a career in 2020.

With the success they had together, we can't blame Edelman for calling Gronk the best TE ever. After all, he has the accolades and numbers to back it up.

More importantly, now that both Gronk and Edelman are retired, it'll be interesting to see how they'll hang out and enjoy retirement together. Hey, maybe they can work out with Brady from time to time?
