New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has now passed former Dallas Cowboys star Michael Irvin for the second-most receiving yards in NFL postseason history.
Edelman has once again been one of Tom Brady's primary targets, and that has helped the Patriots earn yet another appearance in the Super Bowl.
And after Edelman added more yards to his total early on in the game, he was able to move beyond Irvin on the all-time list for postseason receiving yards.
For Edelman to earn the record, he'll need to eventually break the record of the only and only Jerry Rice, who undoubtedly had many incredible playoff performances during his NFL career.

Edelman's ability to find the right spot in the defense has been huge for him throughout his career, and he will undoubtedly continue to be a big part of the Patriots' offense moving forward.
Of course, the Patriots would love for him to add even more yards in this game, as the Super Bowl has thus far featured lots of punting and not a whole lot of scoring.
After a scoreless first quarter, New England was able to put a field goal on the board in the second quarter to take the lead.
