What are the Tom Brady’s former teammates’ thoughts on his move to Tampa Bay to play for the Buccaneers after being with the New England Patriots for almost two decades? One of Brady’s favorite targets while in New England, Julian Edelman, spoke about his former quarterback during a video conference on Monday.

Not much has been said by any Patriots or head coach Bill Belichick on the matter since Brady signed with the Buccaneers back in March. With Belichick and the Patriot Way, this is not surprising, but Edelman has finally spoken up:

“Obviously it’s a little different, but you’ve got to move on and understand this is a business,” Edelman said, via NBCSportsBoston.com. “You wish him well. That’s when you instantly start thinking about what you have to do to prepare yourself to go out and contribute and help the team for the upcoming year. We’ve played a lot of ball together. I love him to death, but the train keeps moving, as it will when I’m not playing here or something. I mean, it always keeps going. So, we’ve got to worry about the people we have here.”

A very Patriots Way answer for sure. Edelman focuses on the business aspect of the decision, understanding that Brady did everything he could in New England and wanted to challenge himself in a different setting.

While he wishes Brady well with his new team, Edelman is focused on what he has to do to help a depleted Patriots team make a run and try to get to the playoffs and another Super Bowl once more.

Perhaps the Patriots and Buccaneers both make it to the Super Bowl, would Edelman’s answer be different then? Only time will tell.
