The New England Patriots are preparing for their second season under the leadership of Mac Jones. He had a remarkable rookie season, leading the team to a 10-7 record and an appearance in the playoffs.

While Jones' first year in the NFL was impressive, it sounds like Patriots fans have even more to look forward to in the upcoming season.

Jakobi Meyers addressed the media in a press conference on Thursday. During his media availability, the wide receiver was asked about Jones and his ability to “blossom” into a leadership role this offseason.

“You say, ‘Has he taken control of the offense?’ I mean, that’s just a capital Yes — exclamation mark, exclamation mark. He's the real deal. What he sees, we're all kind of trying to just catch up to see what's in his mind, his vision.” Meyers said.

He then explained Jones' style of leadership, emphasizing the importance of communication between the Patriots' offense.

“I know him and the coaches have been doing a great job of relaying information to us, but ultimately when we’re out there, he tells us. And we ask him like, ‘How do you want it? Where do you want us to be? When do you want us to be there?’ He’s been really adamant about what he says. He has a clear vision in his mind. It’s real easy to work with him because he puts us in the right direction and we’ve just gotta catch the balls he throws.”

This isn't the first time the Patriots have spoken highly of Jones' newfound comfortability as a leader in the NFL. Bill Belichick told the media that the team is “doing a lot of things differently” because of Jones' experience.
