The New England Patriots are in a great position to close out the AFC East soon. They have a nice-sized lead and aim to sweep the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. However, it appears Mac Jones will be without some of his key weapons in Week 16.

According to Mike Reiss, the Patriots will be without Rhamondre Stevenson and Nelson Agholor. Additionally, safety Joshuah Bledsoe won't play either. The loss of Stevenson and Agholor could be detrimental, as they've played major roles for New England this year.

To make matters worse, it's not like the Patriots' rushing attack could prove to be putrid altogether. In addition to Stevenson being ruled out, Damien Harris is currently questionable, per Dov Kleiman. The running back duo that torched the Bills in their first matchup might not see the field on Sunday.

This matchup against the Bills is extremely important. The Patriots are only one game ahead of Buffalo and a loss will tie them up in the division standings. With just one loss, New England could fall out of first place and into a Wild Card spot.

The weather played a factor in the last game, but that shouldn't be the case this time around. New England will be throwing the ball much more often than they did in the first matchup. For that reason, not having Nelson Agholor on the field is a concern for this offense. We should see Jakobi Meyers targeted more often than not, as the Patriots aim to close out the Bills.

It's not an ideal situation for Mac Jones or the Patriots. However, with the Bills facing some of their own COVID issues, New England will have a fighting chance.
