New England Patriots Rob Gronkowski returned to Gillette Stadium on Friday night and even caught a pass in his old stomping grounds. Luke Bryan had a tour stop on Friday and about halfway through his set, he said he had a guest he wanted to bring out according to Masslive.com.

Out stepped out Gronkowski who was greeted with a roar from the crowd. Gronkowski was visibly moved by the cheering thanking both the fans and Bryan for giving him the chance to come out on stage.

Bryan threw a pass to Gronkowski which he missed, but he got a second chance and Gronk was able to catch the second throw.

“I can now say I completed a pass to Gronk in Gillette Stadium,” Bryan said. “How cool is that?”

Gronkowski also signed the Patriots jersey that Bryan was wearing and returned it to the fan who had given it to Bryan earlier in the set. There were shots done by Gronk and Bryan together and in typical Gronk fashion, he spiked the shot glasses.

The Patriots still need tight end help and maybe if Gronk keeps showing up at Gillette Stadium and getting standing ovations maybe the fans still can convince him to come back for one more season.

If not and Gronkowski doesn't play catch at Gillette Stadium for a while Luke Bryan can say he was the last person to throw a pass to him in his home stadium, even if the first one didn't go quite as planned.
