The New England Patriots are placing running back Sony Michel, guard Shaq Mason and defensive end Derek Rivers on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, per Field Yates of ESPN.

The Patriots, who reopened their facility on Saturday after yet another positive COVID-19 test during the week, will face the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

The Broncos and Patriots were originally scheduled to play last week, but multiple positive COVID-19 tests forced the NFL to reschedule the game.

New England stars Cam Newton and Stephon Gilmore both tested positive for the deadly virus. However, Newton and Gilmore are active again and eligible to play on Sunday against the Broncos.

Sony Michel has appeared in three games for the Patriots this season. He's carried the ball 26 times for 173 yards and one touchdown. Michel has been assigned to the injured reserve list with a quad injury and it's up in the air when he will come off the IR.

The Patriots are 2-2 on the season in the first campaign of the post-Tom Brady era. New England last played on October 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs, a game Newton didn't play in due to his positive COVID-19 test.

The Patriots lost to KC by a final score of 26-10. Both Brian Hoyer and Jarrett Stidham were pretty bad, so the team is excited to get Newton back for the Broncos game.
