Tom Brady and the New England Patriots proved a point in Week 4 against the Miami Dolphins. After a long week full of rumors about unrest in the Patriots' locker room and plenty of other negative things, the Patriots defeated the Dolphins by a final score of 38-7.
Coming into the game, Miami was one of the only undefeated teams left in the NFL. New England wanted to make it clear that they are still the team to beat in the AFC East.
In addition to the win, the Patriots were happy to welcome wide receiver Josh Gordon to the field for the first time. Gordon was acquired a couple weeks back from the Cleveland Browns.
During an interview with NESN, Brady heaped praise on Gordon and talked about his new wide receiver at length.
“He’s been really working hard and trying to get things right. I don’t feel like I had to worry about where he was lining up or what he was running. He was super confident. I could tell in his eyes he knew what he was doing. He’s just been great since he’s came in. So, hopefully we can keep it going and build on it.”
New England is hoping that Gordon can get back to playing up to his full potential. If he does, Brady will have the most dangerous target that he has had since Randy Moss. Gordon is more than capable being that kind of a big-play threat.
Gordon played decently well in his debut, although he did not end up recording huge numbers. He ended up catching two passes for 32 yards in the game.
Receiving praise from Brady isn't something that comes easily. Gordon is doing a lot of things right and the Patriots could not be more excited to have him on their side.
