Tom Brady and LeBron James don't play the same sport, live in the same city or come from the same place; however, in a sense, they are very similar. The New England Patriots quarterback and the Los Angeles Lakers are the best to play in their respective sports.

The two are also friends who exude the same love for their respective sports.

“We’ve been friends for a long time,” Brady said Friday, via Ryan Hannable of WEEI. “Yeah, I’ve always admired him. He’s a great athlete, player. I think he loves the sport, he loves basketball, he loves the competition. I feel the same way about football.”

Brady's comment on James came after the Lakers superstar said, “I'm not at the end of my story. Me and Tom Brady are one and the same. We're going to play until we can't walk no more.” The Patriots quarterback responded with a perfect, “I’m playing until I can’t dunk anymore!”

James retaliated to Brady's response, saying, “Well I’m playing until I can’t throw TD passes anymore!”

Brady and James are two all-time rarities in the sports world. Brady, at the young age of 42 years old, is coming off of his sixth Super Bowl win and third-straight appearance. James, at 34 years old, is proving the critics who claim he is “washed” wrong, averaging 24.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 11.1 assists per game in 2019.

The sports world benefits from having Brady and James. With the longevity they each strive for, those watching should be delighted to see the two play a bit longer.
