New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore recorded his fifth interception of the 2019 NFL season, tying him for the league lead among Minkah Fitzpatrick, Marcus Peters, and teammate Devin McCourty. Gilmore, 29, picked off Cincinnati Bengals veteran quarterback Andy Dalton early in the third quarter of their Week 15 matchup (via NFL).

Gilmore is in his third season with the Patriots after jumping ship from the AFC East division rival Buffalo Bills. So far it has worked wonders for the former 10th overall pick of the 2012 draft, who is a leading candidate, alongside McCourty possibly, for the Defensive Player of the Year given how lock-down the defensive back has been in 2019.

Gilmore has been a primary reason the Patriots' defense is extremely dangerous this year, even if Tom Brady is struggling to create chemistry out of his rotating cast of wide receivers. Gilmore and New England's defense have allowed the fewest touchdowns in the air and second-fewest passing yards entering Sunday.
