Paul McCartney is returning to Europe after years away on his 2024 leg of the “Got Back” tour leg.

After announcing a South America leg of the tour, McCartney announced a long-awaited European leg. Paul McCartney's “Got Back” tour will visit Europe for eight shows in 2024.

The first show will take place on December 4, 2024, in Paris, France. McCartney will play two shows in each city he visits. Shows in Madrid, Spain, Manchester, United Kingdom, and London, England are also on the docket.

Technically, these shows won't be McCartney's first in Europe on the “Got Back” tour. He headlined the 2022 Glastonbury Festival and played a warm-up show in Frome, England.

However, the 2022 leg of the tour primarily took place in North America. In 2023, McCartney played a second leg of the tour that visited Australia, Mexico, and Brazil.

The last shows McCartney played in Europe were before the pandemic. They took place in November and December 2018 on the “Freshen Up” tour.

In April 2022, McCartney commenced the “Got Back” tour with a show in Spokane, Washington. He followed that up with 15 more dates across North America concluding with a show in East Rutherford, New Jersey. After headlining a show at Glastonbury, he took a break for over a year.

On October 18, 2023, McCartney picked the tour back up with a show in Adelaide, Australia. Six more shows were played in the country before he played two shows in Mexico. And then he played nine shows in Brazil.

In October 2024, McCartney will once again play shows. He has six shows in South America planned through October 27. After about a month off, he will kick off the European leg of the tour.

The “Got Back” tour is the seventeenth solo concert tour from McCartney. Each show runs about three hours long and is filled with hits from his Beatles, Wings, and solo catalog.

Rusty Anderson, Brian Ray, Abe Laboriel Jr., and Paul “Wix” Wickens will join McCartney for this 2024 leg of the tour. They have remained a part of his touring band since 2002's “Driving World” tour.

Paul McCartney is widely associated with his time with the Beatles. They were together from 1960-70 before disbanding. In 1970, McCartney kicked off his solo career with his self-titled solo album.

Around this time, McCartney also formed Wings. As a group, they released seven studio albums including Band on the Run and Venus and Mars.

While he is now in his eighties, McCartney has still been putting out music. Since 2013, McCartney has released three solo albums — New, Egypt Station, and McCartney III.
