The Atlanta Hawks have just been met with a road bump in their offseason preparations.

According to reports, star forward Paul Millsap underwent a preventive procedure to reduce swelling on his knee.

He is expected to miss the first two games of the preseason after he completes a three-week rest period. However, it is safe to assume that once Millsap goes back to action, his minutes will be very limited mainly because it’s still preseason.

He is very much expected to be ready for the regular season opener.

Last year, Paul Millsap showed a very impressive all-around effort in what’s probably his best season. He averaged 17.1 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game.

A lot of load will be carried by the Louisiana native with the departure of Al Horford and Jeff Teague.
