For the first time since 2015, superstar power forward Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans are headed back to the playoffs.

That's cool and all, but Davis and his squad are ready to open some eyes in the first round during Game 1 on Saturday night against the Portland Trail Blazers at Moda Center.

During a media session on Friday afternoon, Davis opened up about the upcoming series with Portland and what the deciding factors will be in who comes out on top.

Via a video posted by the Pelicans' official team website:

“Whoever wants it more. We're not too focused on what they're trying to do and everything like that. But we know if we do what we're supposed to do on both ends of the floor, we'll be fine,” Davis said on Friday.

Davis knows what this Pelicans team is capable of, which continues to overcome a lot of what adversity has thrown at them this season following the loss of star center DeMarcus Cousins to a ruptured Achilles tendon.

“Our goal is not to just get into the playoffs, but to make some noise,” Davis said. “Of course it feels good to get back here, but we just don't want to be one of the teams that said they got in just to get in.”

In his most dominant season to date since entering the league as the first overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, Davis averaged an unbelievable stat line with a whopping 28.1 points, 11.1 rebounds, 2.6 blocks, 2.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game during the 2017-18 season.
