The one-year tandem of Rajon Rondo and DeMarcus Cousins is set to be re-united in the Big Easy, as the mercurial point guard joined the controversial big man by signing a one-year deal with the New Orleans Pelicans this offseason.

The duo played together during the 2015-16 season during Rondo's stop with the Sacramento Kings, a year which saw him lead the league in assists with 11.9 per game.

Both players have already a sense of familiarity with each other, but will need to tether yet another line of synchronicity to take this team to the next level, a point that hasn't bothered Cousins much.

“It's pretty easy,” Cousins told NBA.com's Jim Eichenhofer. “Just get open, and he'll do the rest.”

Cousins evolved into a versatile big man under Rondo, stretching out to the three-point line for the first time and reaping the results from it — knocking down over a trey per game in 2015-16.

Having averaged 27 and 11 the past year and at the peak of his All-Star form, Cousins can only excel that much more this second time around with his fellow Kentucky standout, hoping to be at the viable end of his passes coming into the regular season.
