In the world of professional sports, it's often a tough task to categorize which players were the best of all-time in their respective sport.
During a recent interview with Mikey Domagala of OpenCourt-Basketball.com, New Orleans Pelicans All-Star center Cousins was pressed with the task of naming his all-time NBA Mount Rushmore which he was able to knock out the first three names without any trouble:
“Magic Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal… this is tough man,” Cousins giggled. “Michael Jordan.”
Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson are often the go-to choices for greatest players to ever play while Cousins' decision to choose Shaquille O'Neal lies with his respect and admiration for what he accomplished during his heyday.
However, Cousins struggled with his choice between LeBron James and Kobe Bryant for the final spot, which he ultimately decided to go with the latter at this point in time:
“I think LeBron James is one of the greatest all-time, but right now Kobe Bryant.”
It has often been a tough debate for many when choosing between who was the better player between James and Bryant. There is a fair share on both ends of the argument with many giving Bryant the upper hand in the aspect of his mindset and championship pedigree.
That said, James has shaped up quite an impressive first 14 years in the league with personal accolades such as four NBA MVP awards, 13 All-Star Game selections, and three NBA Finals MVP awards.
Ultimately, this a conversation that will always have plenty of debate on who belongs on this prestigious list.
