Unlike Rajon Rondo and DeMarcus Cousins, Ian Clark is not hopping into another team. He will still be wearing New Orleans Pelicans colors next season after agreeing to a one-year deal with the franchise, per Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.

Clark originally became a Pelican last year, when, after being let go by the Golden State Warriors in free agency, he was signed to a one-year contract by New Orleans.

The 6-foot-3 shooting guard gave New Orleans some lift on offense while coming off the bench last season, as he averaged 7.4 points on 44.8 percent shooting from the field in 74 games, with only two starts for the Pelicans.

One knock on Clark was that he was horrible from behind the arc during the 2017-18 campaign. He connected on just 31.8 percent of his 3-point attempts that season, which was a sharp drop from his 37.4 percent accuracy from deep back in his stint with the Warriors a year prior to his arrival in New Orleans.

Hopefully, Ian Clark can regain his decent stroke from long range again, especially with the Pelicans looking to stretch the floor to keep opposing teams from ganging up on Anthony Davis at the post.

Clark went undrafted in the 2013 NBA Draft but played well enough in that year’s Summer League that he was later rewarded with a two-year deal by the Utah Jazz.

So far in his NBA career, the 27-year-old Clark has averages of 5.3 points, 1.1 assists, and 1.,3 rebounds per game.
