Lonzo Ball is among the names that have been mentioned as a possible trade candidate ahead of the NBA trade deadline. With a few moves expected to happen in the coming days, LaVar Ball hopes Lonzo is traded from the New Orleans Pelicans, via an interview with ESPN 710.

Since earlier in the season, it's become apparent that Ball is garnering interest from multiple teams around the NBA. Besides the Chicago Bulls, the New York Knicks have emerged as a team that could pursue the former No. 2 overall pick via trade ahead of the deadline.

Lonzo has shown improvement on the offensive end this season as he's shooting a career-high 42.6 percent from the field while making a career-best 38.9 percent of his three-point attempts. The UCLA product is also posting a career-high 14.2 points per game in his first 37 games of the 2020-2021 season for the Pelicans.

Of course, when it comes to his sons, LaVar is never coy about sharing how feels about their current situations. This time around, besides uttering that he wants a change of scenery for Lonzo, LaVar emitted that Lonzo would welcome a trade to another team.

There are a ton of teams in the league that could use Lonzo, especially for a late-season playoff push. On the other hand, the Pelicans hold a less-than-ideal 17-23 record that is good enough for the 11th seed in the Western Conference.

It remains to be seen if New Orleans is interested in moving on from Lonzo ahead of the deadline. Regardless of what the Pelicans choose to do, LaVar has made it clear where he stands on Lonzo's future with the Pelicans organization.
