New Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball has fresh ink to show off to his teammates and the league.

In a profile shot shared by the 21-year-old guard, entering his third NBA season, on Instagram, Ball poses with new tattoos doting his left arm and elbow. It looks like former US President Barack Obama and civil rights leader Malcolm X are featured on the Los Angeles native's arm.

The New Orleans Pelicans acquired Ball alongside Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and multiple first-round picks in exchange for All-NBA forward Anthony Davis in June. Davis, represented by the same agent, Klutch Sports' Rich Paul, as LeBron James, joins a star-studded Lakers team with James and newcomers DeMarcus Cousins and Danny Green.

The Pelicans, meanwhile, welcome the freshly inked Ball, Hart, and Ingram with their first overall selection Zion Williamson and fellow rookies Jaxson Hayes and Nickeil Alexander-Walker, the latter two which took the NBA's Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada, by storm, similar to Ball's league introduction with the Lakers as a young guard competing in the summer league.

It's been a tumultuous year for Ball, who after only playing in 47 games during his sophomore season, was sidelined for the year in January with an ankle sprain. Additionally, Ball has been embroiled in a lawsuit against Big Baller Brand's Alan Foster, who's alleged to misuse the point guard's finances. Between Ball's injury, lawsuit, and trade, the Pelicans are looking for a fresh start for their new guard.
