Lonzo Ball and LaMelo Ball are set to face each other for the very first time on a professional basketball court. The Ball brothers' first duel is scheduled on Friday night as Lonzo's New Orleans Pelicans are set to host LaMelo's Charlotte Hornets.

Naturally, the headlines will be focused on these two but for the 23-year-old Lonzo, his main goal is to help his team get back on track.

“I think it's going to be a lot of fun. It's our first time matching up in a real game, but I think it's going to be an opportunity to just get back on track. We've lost the last two so we want to turn it around starting tomorrow,” the older Ball brother said (via Sporting News).

The Pelicans are now at .500 after losing two close games against the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers. Lonzo is hoping to get the Pels bounce back from a tw0-game skid and it might be at the expense of his little brother. When asked if was planning to welcome his younger brother in the league with some good old trash-talk, he responded:

“No, I'll just play my game. Wherever coach (Stan Van Gundy) puts me, I'll do the best I can to get stops for my team and push the break the other way.”

Eight games in, Lonzo has been one of the more consistent guards in head coach Stan Van Gundy's. The second overall pick in the 2017 draft has been shooting better this season (40.6%) and has averaged 13.4 points per game, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.6 assists.

For his part, the young LaMelo has also been making waves in his rookie year in Charlotte. He's posted a decent stat line so far coming off the bench with 12.1 points per game, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.9 assists.

Something tells me that LaVar Ball will have a huge smile on his face come Friday night.
