New Orleans Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball is excited to play with Jrue Holiday next season.

Ball believes Holiday — who is the new leader of the Pelicans now that Anthony Davis is gone — is one of the most underrated players in the NBA:

“Our team is young, fun. We also have vets. Jrue is one of the most underrated players, in my opinion,” Ball said on the Lightharted Podcast. “I can’t wait to play with him on both sides of the court. That’s going to be a lot of fun.”

Last season for the Pelicans, Jrue Holiday averaged 21.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 7.7 assists while shooting 47.2 percent from the field, 32.5 percent from beyond the arc and 76.8 percent from the free-throw line. He missed the final 15 games of the season due to a core muscle injury which required surgery, but is 100 percent now.

The Pelicans can't wait to see Holiday and Lonzo Ball wreck havoc together on opposing guards. Both Holiday and Ball are really good defenders.

Ball has career averages of 10.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 6.4 assists in 99 games. With the Pelicans, the former No. 2 overall pick has to improve his jump shot, as Ball is shooting just 38.0 percent from the floor, 31.5 percent from the 3-point line and 43.7 percent from the charity stripe in his first two seasons in the league.
